Floating Ball Valve and Trunnion Mounted Ball Valve Pressure Test Procedure

1.The strength test of the pneumatic ball valve should be test with the ball half open.

1.1 Titan Floating ball valve tightness test: the valve is in a half-open state, the test medium is introduced at one end, and the other end is closed; the ball is rotated several times, and the closed end is opened for inspection when the valve is in the closed state, and the sealing performance at the packing and the gasket is checked. There must be no leakage. The test medium was then introduced from the other end and the above test was repeated.

1.2 Titan Trunnion Mounted ball valve tightness test: Before the test, rotate the no-load ball several times, the fixed ball valve is closed, the test medium is introduced from one end to the specified value; check the sealing performance of the inlet with a pressure gauge. The accuracy of the pressure gauge is 0.5 to 1 and the range is 1.6 times the test pressure. In the specified time, if there is no depressurization, it is qualified; then the test medium is introduced from the other end, and the above test is repeated. Then, the valve is in a half-open state, the ends are closed, the inner cavity is filled with the medium, and the packing and the gasket are inspected under testing pressure, and there must be no leakage.

2.Test Procedure For Flange Ball Valve

2.1 Hydro-static Shell Test
With the valve partially open, fill the valve body with water and apply test pressure shown in

Table 1.  Make sure the valve ends closed then to check all body joins and body surface to ensure zero leakage and all parts are no leakage.

Test duration shall be according to Table2.

2.2 High Pressure Valve Seat Test (Hydrostatic)
With the valve closed fully, test both directions. One direction each time at pressure in Table

With the valve closed fully, test both directions. One direction each time at pressure in Table 3. Make sure zero leakage on whole area.
The test duration shall be as shown in table3
For stainless steel and duplex stainless steel valves, the chloride content in test water shall not exceed 30 ppm by mass.

2.3 Low Pressure Valve Seat Test (Gas)
With the valve closed fully, test both directions. One direction each time at pressure of 0.6MPag. Make sure zero leakage on whole seal area.
The test duration shall be as shown in Table2

2.5 After Pressure Test
The test water is to be entirely evacuated from valve bore.
Tor carbon steel valves, the interior of valve is to be sprayed or coated with rust preventative oil to prevent rust and corrosion during transit and storage.
